I am sorry about your dog. I think dogs go through some weird phases like humans do. As for your mom, she needs to realize with anxiety, pills are not the answer in the long run. I have had anxiety/panic attacks for years and I used to think pills were the answer. Ativan is not more addictive then Xanax and they do also use it as a muscle relaxer. I have taken both drugs, but Xanax worked better for me. Most of these drugs have 100 different uses. I would encourage her to seek therapy. I see my therapist once a week and it has really made a huge difference in my life. It is hard to admit that you have problems and sometimes it is even harder to seek treatment. Sometimes it makes you feel like you are weak. I hope that you mom will get some help.
