Seriously, I believe if anyone can kick this things ass she can. I am so glad she didn’t ignore the symptoms and blow it off – a stroke is the last thing you would think of in someone her age.

I didn’t see her tweets until after she’d already left for the hospital, but as I was scrolling through them to see what she’d be up to lately, I knew something was very wrong. The more I read, the more I was afraid it was a exactly something like this. Thank goodness she went in when she did!

We sometimes forget strokes can happen to anyone, not just the elderly. These three simple tasks can help safe a life. If you or someone you know has a weak spell or other potential symptom of a stroke:

S – ask the person to smile.
T – ask the person to Talk – to speak a simple coherent sentence. “It’s a sunny day outside”
R – ask the person to Raise both arms. (like in a stickup)

If the person has trouble with any one of these tasks, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Hang in there, Jess! You’re gonna be ok! If you need anything, just ask! <3

Sinei: as you said, she’s been taking ADHD meds for years now (so have I and probably a number of other people who’ve posted). But from what I understand she just started taking a new birth control pill. Even if other factors are involved that possibly increased her risk, you can’t dismiss birth control as low risk, or lowER risk, because it simply is not:

“Women using any type of birth control pills have about twice the stroke risk of nonusers.”

Anyway, none of us are in a position to know for sure what caused this to happen to her, only that it’s sure as fuck not something you expect to happen to a young person in her twenties. I just wanted to make sure people know SOME of what’s going on with her so they don’t think she just fell off the edge of the earth.

it doesn’t necessarily mean it was from birth control. that’s a much lower risk than many other lifestyle factors. huge cause of strokes is amphetamines and alcohol. i am pretty sure jess has been taking adderall for years now.

I am so upset to hear about Jess. She’s a sweet girl and I always enjoyed her stopping by my cam shows and chatting with her on Twitter. I can’t believe this happened to someone so young. Now I am absolutely terrified to be on the BC pill. Been having doubts lately after reading about heart attacks and strokes from it but now this just hits too close to home. I would like to help Jess out any way that I can whether it’s helping her maintain her site or just auctioning off my panties or site memberships to raise money to help her get back on her feet. I sure hope she recovers from this quickly and can get her life back.

OMG i’m near tears reading this. It still hasn’t sunk in. Jess is one of the coolest chicks i’ve met since being on cams.
