DEFINITELY not alone in your irritation & reading yours expressed likewise buoys me up to be reminded people "get it" even if it's only those of us who do it/experience it daily.

I don't think she ever admitted that the pics are stolen or gave credit for where she found them, but Cass/Blue eyez said multiple times via twitter and email that Alexa RPD stole them and refuses to take them down, she's not Alexa, etc. Her rabid fans defended her by saying that "Alexa" no doubt conscientiously selected photos of someone who looked so much like her as to be a fair representation of her while protecting her own identity, and that using someone else's pics in this way was totally cool!

I sorta wish I'd taken more time to write this post in a way that convinces other people (those who DON'T get it) how fucked up the RPD charade is (and maybe I still will someday) instead of basically just ranting to get my irritation off my chest, but oh well. Your comment reminds me that maybe it was worth it, all the time that got wasted in the fall-out of it and the drama of having people chastise those of us who were/are mad about him (and it IS a him, with a lot of time on his hands).

I feel jaded sometimes too, especially when stuff like this comes up and it seems like it would be so much easier -- less trauma and more appreciation! -- to create a fake persona and peddle other people's sites instead of my own. On a more personal note, I'm glad that the first time I got "fat" was while working a regular/non-adult job so I was able to enjoy it without being hammered with horribly intimate insults. In general I think webwhoring would be harder for me -- harder to put into context, easier to take even more personally than I already do -- if I hadn't spent years working regular jobs before I started webwhoring. Anyway, I hate thinking about you feeling trapped or crappy by all of that stuff (not just the weight gain thing but the EVERYthing of EVERYbody constantly demanding more / nothing being good enough, etc.) - sitting at home being inundated by all that virtual pressure and criticism can be really isolating and depressing.

You have made like a million points in this post as to why I am considering leaving the industry. I did LOVE my work at one point even if it was a total result of my borderline personality disorder and fucked up childhood. As far as I was concerned I was acting out my issues in a positive way and I was being paid for it...

Then people like this stupid "bitch" (male OR female) pop up and put out bullshit/un-true/unrealistic/misleading content (whether in this case it happens to be written but this also applies to porn that is totally fake and if a man/viewer pulled the moves he saw in that lying content on a real woman/sex partner he'd be likely to be murdered). It drives me straight up bananas that I am expected to be so squeaky clean/not ugly/not gain weight/not age/not have personal problems or other obligations other than posting more and more of my life online/sleep naked/fulfill random demands/answer ALL forms of communication for free/not get pissed if you repost my work without giving me credit or sending me traffic/deal with other lying webmasters that prey on insecure and ignorant ladies that think they can make a quick buck without putting much work into their "work"/or not get pissed if people make stupid assumptions about me.

I've basically become the jaded web whore. Your work constantly inspires me to try to work through it though and get back to what made me happy about my work in the first place. I'm so happy you voiced your opinions on this issue because it says to me I'm not alone in my irritation.

And the pics of Blue eyez? Did she ever admit that wasn't her? For gods sake Blue Eyez doesn't even show her nipples so I know if she knew about this she would have a shit fit (as she no longer models for the site you linked to above but took the high road and started her own site but basically does the same stuff...)

hey everyone--

i'm a sex worker/grad student desperately trying to finish my thesis about stripping and identity formation, and some of the discourse emerging around the alexa debate fills a crucial hole in my argument. i need some sources, though: anyone got links to articles/posts specifically dealing with: mainstream sex work debate/academia's lack of acknowledgment of sex work bloggers, current criticisms of sex work bloggers as disempowered, or that blogging allows us sex workers to express liminality in an otherwise polarized debate?

any and all ideas would help at this point. i'm at a loss, and this debate just became my ticket to ride. link to my blog is above, please email or comment with any ideas. sorry to be whiny. i'm trying to take my shite to the academic level, yo!

love and lapdances,

Those are all awesome and/or interesting political points, but they don't even begin to address my points, which were to illustrate how full of shit Alexa is. I'm *pretty sure* you weren't the only person who pointed out her mistake, and you'll have to forgive me for not being able to telepathically figure out your entire personal history and gender id (FYI: your url is incorrect so if you do have an LJ, sorry I can't find it NOTE: I edited the url so know those links work). Maybe you said it in those comments on RPD but they might have gotten deleted before I could see them. Regardless, going on a rampage of ignorant assumptions against me is a pretty big tangent, but you're right -- you're probably the only person who even READ that part of my post because nobody else seems to give a fuck about it or have half a clue how to comprehend it. Very strange that you also couldn't comprehend it, or have such a fat boner to argue with everyone that it doesn't matter if your arguments have nothing to do with the subject at hand.

"The way you cis people love to put it"? Seriously? Yeah, cis people came up with the word "transman" and that's totally part of our sick fetish. GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK. Why don't you go to "your community" and tell them that? I'd find that very interesting. Or wait, is the real problem here that you are extremely frustrated because you feel as though you HAVE no community and have nothing better to do than to take it out on people YOU DO NOT FUCKING KNOW? I totally agree with a bunch of things you said, so please stick those points straight up your butch ass and pull them out again on somebody who really needs to hear it. Of course I don't equate transwomen's stereotyped media visibility in the media with having a voice!

But let me just tell you: don't even start lecturing me on misogyny like it's something I don't understand. You want to know my ugly trans prejudices? Well here it is, right here with a flag on a map: someone born male giving me a fucking left-field lecture on misogyny and on top of that acting like I don't know the kind of violence my trans girlfriend is likely to be the target of because she is a woman with a cock. Go vent your rage somewhere it's deserved.

I'm sorry if you lost a fellow "lesbian" to hotchat with in the form of your favorite Real Princess who is really a man.

shit, that middle paragraph is supposed to say:

Do you really think that women who are trans want to be the butt of tr*nny jokes in the media. Do you think that trans female visibility is remotely positive? **Do you think trans men wish they had that too.** But that wouldn't even make sense since its trans women’s womanhood that makes them the butt of these jokes. Nobody tries to tear down cis men by accusing them of being trans. Thats reserved for cis women.

I give you credit for posting my comment. thanks.

" BUT I can totally understand why people would get defensive, pissed and call you out on things."

good then you'll understand why I'm about to call you out.

I'm the one who raged at Alexa about her dumbass ignorant post and no I am not a man. Not a cis man, trans man or "transman" the way you cis people love to put it. Thats fuck up number one where you equate butch with being trans male. I'm trans female.

Fuck up number two is thinking that anyone should give a fuck about your "pet peeves" about transphobia. I mean do you give a fuck about Melissa Farley's take on violence against sex workers?

"There’s no way to leave that as is and make it sound inclusive of FTM people and that definitely is a pet peeve of mine, that transwomen are fetishized and sensationalized and much more visible in the media like they are THE ONLY transpeople, while transmen are this invisible population"

And then the pet peeve itself is utter bullshit: Do you really think that women who are trans want to be the butt of tr*nny jokes in the media. Do you think that trans female visibility is remotely positive? But it doesn't even make sense since its trans women's womanhood that makes them the butt of these jokes. Nobody tries to tear down cis men by accusing them of being trans. Thats reserved for cis women

Let me relate it again to your community--do you think that male sex workers are jealous of the treatment that female sex workers get from the media? And would it even make sense for them to get the same treatment? Fuck no since misogyny is wrapped up so tightly with slut shaming and sex work stigma.

then number 3 you roll out the garden variety cissexism of what who is "born with" and "biological". Fuck that. My cunt is not made of fucking neoprene and hose clamps, it feels pretty fucking biological to me thank you. And a trans women's
"born with" genitalia is a lot more likely to get her left for dead by an EMT then get her fucking story heard.

That bullshit aside your trying to equate trans female representation in the media with us actually having a voice? Let me clue you in here: Cis people don't listen to trans people of any gender. Cis people's fascination with trans women is somehting you'll have to work out amongst yourselves but I guarantee you won't find its out of any kind of respect for there genitalia.

Hi Trixie.

Yes it is wrong to take photos and to infringe copyright laws. But my understanding is that your only breaking a copyright by using a copyrighted image when it is used for income. Meaning if it is used on a site that has paying members, ad links, or takes donations? I could be wrong and probably am.

But even with that let me correct myself if I was misunderstood – Yes I feel it is wrong to use someone’s images without their knowledge and permission and I wouldn’t like it if someone used mine, but I would expect to see it and sooner or later I would lose interest in correcting it on personal non income sites, as they are used like crazy on those types of sites anyhow.

How many people bought the book “A Million Little Pieces” after they knew it was extremely exaggerated with lies? Proving that some adults spend their time lying and some spend their time buying the lies. Then there are those oddballs that just enjoyed it and those that hated it. The truth is there is show and an audience for everything and everyone. What is absurd to some just isn’t the same state of mind for others.

Trixie I think your/this post turned into a great teaching tool for people to ponder and I think everyone that read it did just that. And I know you understand the subject and are exposed to it giving you the heads up more than the readers.

I see Alexa took her site down and what a shame. Like yours it has dedicated hours wihtin it, & readers that now miss that dedication. And that is what having a blog is about - writing and its audience - And not much else.

Thanks for your kindness and for adding me to your twitter :-)

Looking forward to your next blog.

Much Love.

Nobody: Personally, as a photographer, I would love to be informed if somebody were stealing my work. I imagine a model would feel the same way. Therefore, it was only right to ask.

On the another note, if somebody is giving advice and pretending to be a sex work or sex educator, and they are not, it becomes a real problem. You might think you're taking advice from someone with real knowledge on the subject, but you're not. That's bad.

Love to you, too -- I'm happy to know you're still out there.

I think a lot of this is coming off as petty and "nitpicky", and I can understand why since a lot of the dots aren't connected or have been placed too far apart for people to see ALL of the loads of bullshit. I know I could have/could do a better job of it, but I don't have time or the energy and it this point am pretty sick of talking about it, too.

The one question I do have time & energy to address from your post is your question about copyright & whether it's any of my business that she's been using another woman's images: most people in our industry really appreciate having our attention called to that kind of theft. If someone is stealing my pictures and using them for their personal ads, pretending to be me, etc. I am glad when people let me know and/or confront the person using them who shouldn't be. How would you feel if I watched someone pick your pocket and didn't alert you, telling myself it's "none of my business"?

I agree with you that professionals can say a lot of really stupid shit and just because someone has a degree doesn't mean everything they say is true or even more accurate or helpful than a high school dropout with common sense who likes to go to the library and has practical experience. I totally agree with that. It's late for me, too, and I don't have time to do justice to fully explaining the myriad ways the situation with Alexa was/is different, though and more complicated than someone just embellishing the truth and trying to help kids out, but one of the ways is that she claimed she was an expert with specific academic credentials.

On top of all that, I still don't understand how me or anybody else expressing our opinions and suspicions on Alexa is worse to so many people than what should by now be the OBVIOUS truth that she is a really creepy fucker. I understand how that just sounds shocking and mean to people who haven't seen what I have seen about her, but to me, that is the truth. If you've been reading my blog all this time, 1) thank you and 2) you already know I don't make posts like this often. I'm not saying my blog is just awesome and full of positive hugs and rainbows all of the time, but I do come across lots of people's blogs without making a habit of ripping them to shreds every time I simply don't like them. This goes beyond just not liking someone or thinking that their stories are fictionalized (which I wouldn't have blogged about if that was all there was to be concerned with), for me and for other people to.

Anyway, take care of yourself.

I sat by while this whole thing boiled up into looking very childish and ignorant by all involved. And I really don’t have nothing to say now that matters one way or another with my meaningless high school dropout education. So please bear with me through my bad spelling and grammar as I continue, but apologize as i know it exists.

I think the only reason I am going to say something now is for the sake of all the people out there that are sick of these types of online actions that only in the end form hate that just leaves a bad taste everywhere it goes.

I honestly don’t see the harm Alexa supposedly caused by all the things Alexa is accused of, even if all the accusations are correct as they well could be - but then we may never know. But I see more harm done by those that came online to be private investigators by bringing other parties into this mess and covering them with this embarrassment that they clearly didn't want.

And by publically asking a online model that is clearly on the net to run a business if she is Alexa - how rude to bring suspicion into her business - but she might of gotten a few subscriptions from this unwanted attention and everyone loves money when it comes their way.

But this whole attack (I say attack because I don’t know what else to call it) showed no etiquette and more harm than the person accused. And it has turned into a sad, sad sight for nothing and for all involved - even me now :-(

Before you say what about the photos and copyrights and all the little knit-picking things brought up - All I can say is; is it really yours or anyone else’s business to go after Alexa for a image/photo you don’t own? You have no idea if the rightful owners of the photo/s care if their photo/s are being used without their acknowledgement or any acknowledgement back to them - but it is the right thing to do and we all should agree on that with respect - too bad we all don't. But unless the photo/s belong to the crowd that cares there shouldn't be a problem beside reporting it to the rightful owner. And if they are your photos then have the courtesy to be professional about it, because others online can’t be professional for you - obviously.

As for her giving advice to teens without the education backing it up – this is clearly a damned if you do type of a situation. Speaking from a person that has been at the end of advice by professionals in their career and wished I never listen to them I can say I have received better advice from friends and strangers without any education in the field. It is not illegal to give advice or we would all be in trouble. And I do understand a website giving advice or speaking on subjects they are not trained or studied too give is totally different then a friend. But then again it is a website and only a website – they're a dime a dozen. Its sick I know, but we have to live with it.

And if Alexa is just a Faux-ho then so be it - nobody is going to die because of it and its not going to harm anyone one bit. It’s not making you look foolish or taking food out of your mouth - but the actions against Alexa are becoming the most foolish of all things I've been seeing.

I would hope that all the people on all sides or no side as myself because I have only kicked a few notes to Alexa in twitter and I don’t read her blog and I am not her friend – I don’t need to be. I am just another brainless twitter - nothing more. But I have read your blog and comments and other blogs raising the same eyebrows at Alexa and I shake my head now because it is so far from its original intent unless this is what the people wanted - weeks of net drama.

But I would like to think there are better things to bring attention too then is overabundant subject. Like maybe a bit of focus on the real tragedies that plague this world because people young and old are dying from them and all people of all trades should care and not care about this. But it did make for good reading as I am guilty of wasting time on until it made me feel sick by the fuel of unsightly hate in some - Sadly.

I have a lot of respect towards you Trixie, for you ran one of my blog post about five yrs ago on my addiction and street life in your blog and said kind words directed towards it and me. So I have always liked you, loved you for what its worth - and it is worth my smile you gave me.

I hope this made a bit of sense since it is almost 2am and I am tired. I also hope this ends soon for everyone involved sake - while they still have a respectable face.

Apparently, Alexa had Cassandra's pics on her Myspace (http://www.myspace.com/alexadicarlo) which she took down after my boyfriend pointed it out in a comment on her blog (denied, of course).

You can see that she has Miami strip club listed... Anyone interested in doing a fact check?

To clear this up, I wasn't trying to imply that Richard was her... I was just pointing out that only one person is even closely related to the profile information she gave. I highly doubt that Alexa even goes to school at sfsu. Sorry for the confusion.

I think her sites use a privacy protected registration so LOTS of sites have that po box and city, state zip so it doesn't indicate anything about where she did or didn't or does or doesn't live.

The Florida link, as it's been said, is BS anyway. Even when Alexa/Caitlain/whatever claimed to live in Florida, her sites were registed in SF like they are now.

She never lived there. She never went to school there. It's just part of her online lie.

Thanks very much for the info, Jessi. Someone else who has met Richard also told me he is not Alexa/Caitlin and I hope no one reading that comment assumes he must be "her" simply because her faked school-creds led to him as the only option that fit her degrees in bullshit. I hope he gets a chuckle out of it, though.
