Oh! And I forgot to say that all of those are just cell phone pics so they don't count as "work". Or not too much work, anyway.

Rita: cool! I should also mention on top of that we aren't allowing ourselves to plan to meet family or friends on these nights away, either. It's *so* tempting to bring the camera "just in case" or to call my sister or people we never get to hang out with, but it's so worth it to just have that time all to ourselves with no one else's schedule involved, no dog to wake us up in the morning, etc. LOVE IT! Hope you get to do it, too.

David: I'm so glad you liked it! And yeah, more than once a month would be like . . . crazy awesome!

Speaking of reading books about olden times, on the bus tonight, I finished the book you recommended, "The Road to Damietta." It was quite the education about Saints Francis and Clare plus much more. Thanks for your tip.
Since fig leaves, many societies have been obsessed by clothes. Not usually true of societies where it is always hot. Maybe it's just an obsession of concern that you don't get chilly?
Try to get away more than once a month.
Peace!

This post inspires me! One night away from home with no work or puppy dog responsibilities is very appealing.
