We tried shooting candlelit pics last night to celebrate midwinter with members:

I planned to edit and post them today, but then the sun was shining so I decided to break this long streak of no-days-off. February in our parlor with the south-facing windows is like MAGIC, so I took off my clothes, rolled out a yoga mat, finished a book and soaked up enough hot sun to SWEAT. And I took this picture of (some of) the mountains on Groundhog Day from our backyard:

Of course we have more impressive mountains all around us, but this portion of the Olympics is what we can see the most from our parlor. The warm, warm, SUNSHINEY parlor!
We’re over the hump and heading towards spring . . . but in that little section of our house it’s like an entirely different hemisphere that plays by totally different rules during this stretch of winter.
