Singing Dreams

Last night I dreamt I was singing. Like a bird. Like motherfucking Celtic Woman on PBS (but without the prom dresses or fiendishly exaggerated blonde fiddle player – only the sound, but without drummers or anything in the background).
It felt like silvered water flowing through my throat and coming out it sounded good. My voice trilled, turning corners up and down and up and UP. I was so excited to discover I could do this. It wasn’t just sound, it was the feeling of it in my torso, streaming through my throat and out of my mouth.
Someone was there, teaching me how to do it, telling me I could but I can’t see her now or remember who she was. But I have a pretty good idea. And I’m not even sure she knows how to sing in real life either.
We were outside in an apple orchard.
